9 Lazy Ways to Lose Weight for Busy People

Because the More Ways to Lose Fat, the Better

Earlier, I mentioned a few ways to help yourself lose some pounds the lazy way. We all know that it can be a hassle to get rid of a few pounds. It can also be pretty disheartening when you do actually try to shed some pounds and you don’t see any results.

For whatever reason, you don’t see any weight coming off and you can’t figure out why. The following is more ways to change your lifestyle so that you can possibly shed that little bit of weights you’ve been wanting to get rid of.

This is a continuation from my article, 9 Ways To Lose Weight…The Lazy Way.

Mini Meals

“I got this feeling inside my bones”

I know in the other article I talked about snacking and how it could be bad for this entire process, but snacking can also have its benefits.

If you are snacking on the right things, not big bags of potato chips or candy, then these snacks can act as mini meals throughout your day.

When it comes to having a real meal, you’ll feel the need to not have to eat as much. Your stomach will be satisfied much quicker than it usually is.

You won’t be starving yourself, you won’t constantly be hungry when it gets close to meal time. You may even feel as though you don’t need to have much at any meal.

If you happen to not be much of the creative type and can’t think of any decent snacks that will help you get through the day without feeling like a complete slob, here is a great article that gives some ideas about healthy snacks that are quick and easy to make.

Fill Up on Foods, Not Drinks

“I feel that hot blood in my body when it drops”

You may have heard of people that go on juicing diets. This is when most of what a person consumes is made up of healthy juices that help detox the body in some way.

I don’t know about you, but when somebody mentions healthy juice I immediately think of a drink that is made entirely of some organic grass. Just something that is completely unappealing.

I can’t say that I’ve had any “grass” juices but I’ve had a few, thanks to Elisa, and they aren’t nearly as bad as they seem or look (some juices look like absolute shit).

Juices still may not sound very appealing to you and that is perfectly understandable. You may be in love with the sodas or the sugary juices. Can’t get mad at you for liking that stuff, they are 100% delicious.

I’m not going to say that having liquids isn’t important but if you are trying to lose weight, you should probably look to have a little less of the sugary liquids and fill up more with food.

Food takes up more space in your stomach so you are going to feel fuller than you would if you just stuck with liquids.

Sodas and teas are definitely things that can satisfy your taste buds, but will eventually hurt you in the long run if you have too much of it.

To make your body lose more fat, you should focus on eating foods that are higher in fat and lower in carbs. Eventually, your body will turn into a fat burning machine. You will lose a lot more weight when you can do this. This 28-Day Weight Loss Challenge is a good start for anybody looking to lose weight fast.

Less Coffee and Sweets

“All those things I shouldn’t do”

If you’re like a lot of people, when you wake up, you absolutely need to have a cup of coffee. Your day can’t begin without a good cup. That’s fine.

Maybe you’re like some people that need to have another cup of coffee in the afternoon and another one at night after dinner. I personally think you’re a little insane for wanting to drink that much coffee, but I’ve never been a fan of it so I can’t knock it.

I can knock the fact that coffee is loaded with caffeine and can inhibit certain sleep patterns at night. You wonder why you don’t get much sleep yet you are drinking 4 or more cups of coffee throughout each day. You don’t allow yourself to get as much rest as you can.

Coffee can trigger an endless cycle, especially once you become dependent on it multiple times a day. You drink the coffee, you don’t get much sleep, you have to wake up early, you drink coffee to get you through the day, you’re up later than you should be, and the next morning it starts all over again.

The same goes for sweets. Coffee and cakes are a nice fit for each other. Adding sugary items to your daily coffee routine only makes things that much harder. If your body can’t function without the assistance of caffeine and sugar, how do you expect it to drop any pounds?

You need to ease up on both coffee and the cakes. It may be a little difficult at first but it can be done. I am a firm believer that you do not need coffee to make it through the day. You do not need a cake to go with that coffee.

Try to ween yourself off both. If you have 4 cups of coffee every day, try to cut it down to three by the end of the week, then 2 the next week, then 1 the week after. Your body will adjust quicker than you think and before you know it, you may just be having that occasional cup of coffee instead of the daily cups of coffee.

This leads me to another crucial point and that is sleep.

Get More Sleep

“Feeling good, good, creeping up on you”

Sleep is a major key when it comes to losing weight. If you are already the lazy type, sleep shouldn’t be an issue for you at all.

Most people are going to say you need at least 8 hours of sleep and this is true.

When you sleep, there’s no way you’re eating (if you are, that is very impressive). When you aren’t eating, you can’t add any more to your daily caloric intake. Simply put, if you aren’t adding more food to your body, you can’t gain more.

Your body goes into overdrive while you’re sleeping as well. When you get your recommended amount of sleep, your body burns more calories and more fat. Less fat always sounds better, right?

Lack of sleep has other major impacts on your body that don’t necessarily involve your weight. If you don’t want to sleep because of your weight, you should at least try to get more sleep for the reasons listed here.

Be Somewhat Active

“Got that good soul in my feet”

For the lazy person in all of us, this tip isn’t going to sound fun at all.

You’re going to need to do something active. I know I mentioned actually working out in the last article, but what I’m about to talk about is much less strenuous on you and your body.

Some of you may not enjoy the high-intensity work, even when it is less than 10 minutes. I get it. You should do something active, though. Something every single day. It really isn’t that difficult. Still significantly less than 10% of your day.

When I say do something active, I mean almost anything. Go outside and walk for 30 minutes. Go play with your dog. Go on an extended walk with your pet. Let’s be honest, if you’re struggling this much to be active, your pets probably need to get the exercise too.

Anything you do is going to help. Just as long as you aren’t stagnant. Keep your body moving. Get your heart rate up a little bit. Try to make yourself get somewhat tired. Feel yourself having to take some deep breaths. When this happens, you are starting to do something decent for your body.

Don’t Forget Breakfast!

“I can’t take my eyes up off it, moving so phenomenally”

Some people may feel that this is something that doesn’t have that much of an effect on your body, but the significance of it is much greater than you think.

You have to eat breakfast! People say it’s the most important meal of the day for a reason. Breakfast is a meal that so many people overlook. I’m guilty of it. I used to not worry about having breakfast because some days I would be in a hurry and not set myself up very well. Neglecting my breakfast just made things harder for the rest of the day. You never truly understand this until you do start to have breakfast on a regular basis.

Breakfast kick starts your metabolism for the day. When your metabolism isn’t off to a good start each day, your body is slower and more sluggish. Getting your metabolism started properly means that you will start to burn the fat on your body faster.

This will also help get rid of cravings you may have in the middle of the day. When you’re feeling tired and a little hungry even after your lunch break, it’s more than likely because your body still isn’t caught up to the time it is. Your metabolism needs to catch up. It hasn’t had proper time to warm up.

Start your day off with some kind of breakfast and you are setting yourself up for the rest of your day. You only hurt yourself when you neglect breakfast.

Fruits and Veggies are Your Friends

“Ooh, it’s something magical”

If you love to snack, despite what has been said up to now about snacking, there are still ways that you can do this and burn a little fat at the same time.

You can snack, but it’s going to have to be on a lot of fruits and vegetables. Staying away from the junk foods will make things so much easier for you.

Fruits and veggies can be just as filling as the junk foods that you love to eat, but they are much healthier for you.

For example, they contain a lot of fiber. Fiber is something that works wonders for your body. It keeps you regular in the bathroom (hopefully) and it can also help you feel fuller for a longer time, leading to less food consumed in the long run.

Apples can give you more energy than coffee. The nutrients in an apple help give your body much more energy than the simple caffeine that is in coffee. Why not have more energy throughout the day and not be hungry during the process?

Gaining weight from eating fruits and veggies is just plain difficult. Since they are so low in calories, it’s going to take A LOT of these foods to gain some serious weight. When I say a lot, I mean a lot. Calories add up to more fat. When you have less calories, you can’t get much more fat.

Water, Water, Water

“It’s in the air, it’s in my blood, it’s rushing on”

When it comes to losing weight, water may play one of the most significant roles. If you don’t drink a lot of water, drink more. If you think you drink enough water, you probably don’t so drink more.

Water keeps you body functioning like a well-oiled machine. It keeps all of your organs running smoothly while helping get rid of any toxins you have in your body.

When you drink more water, you will tend to eat less food when it comes to meal time. You may be going to the bathroom a little more often, but that’s a small price to pay when it comes to keeping your body in a comfortable state.

Like the monosaturated fats, water helps increase satiety which gives you the feeling of being fuller for a longer time.

Even if you aren’t trying to drop more pounds, water just helps you be healthier in general. When you’re able to keep everything inside your body functioning properly, you will be able to see the difference on the outside.

Forgive Yourself

“Don’t need no reason, don’t need control”

The most important piece of advice that I think you will ever need to remember is to forgive yourself. This applies to many aspects of life, but it is especially important to remember this when it comes to your body.

Don’t beat yourself up every time you don’t do something you should’ve done, or eat something that you know you should’ve stayed away from. Beating yourself up isn’t going to get you anywhere. If anything, it’s only going to slow you down.

If you feel like you’ve made some kind of mistake, you have to let it go. It will be hard, that’s guaranteed. Most people are their own toughest critics, so they are naturally harder on themselves about everything they do.

They can beat themselves up over little things just because they expect better out of themselves. Some may thrive more when they do this, but they are more than likely going to hinder the progress they want to make.

When you forgive yourself, you remember that you are just a human being. Mistakes happen and when they do, you must choose to learn from it or let it bring you down even more.

Help The Cause

“So just imagine, just imagine, just imagine”

Now I know these are “lazy” ways to help you lose weight, but that’s just it, they help. They aren’t going to automatically shed the pounds. You have to help the process along. You have to do more to help yourself.

If you truly want to make a change to your body, you have to put in the effort and be ready for lifestyle changes that, although they may take some getting used to, will greatly benefit you in the long run.
