13 Healthy Reasons Why You Should Bring Apple Cider Vinegar into Your Life

It Doesn't Taste Good At All, but Damn Is It Good For You

You’re here because you want to learn about Apple Cider Vinegar. It’s truly awesome for your body, but I need to say something about it first.

It tastes terrible.

It’s repulsive.

I still haven’t gotten used to it.

With that being said, you should definitely incorporate it into your daily routine. Why?

Well, let’s go over some reasons.

1. Fixes Upset Stomach

Sometimes I get caught eating things that I’m not supposed to eat or maybe that carton of milk in the fridge calls my name just a bit too loud. At some point in the month, my stomach is going to get upset due to me mistreating it.

It’s never a fun thing, just ask my wife.

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) is high in pectin content. Without getting too scientific on you, pectin is part of a plant’s biology and it helps to form fibrous matter in your stomach. This aids in preventing diarrhea.

Pectin also does a wonderful job of forming a protective coat around the colon lining. This is quite soothing and is really helpful in those times you are suffering from intestinal spasms.

You don’t have to go crazy and drink the ACV straight up if you don’t want to. Try mixing it with one or two tablespoons of water or juice. Apple juice.

2. Prevent Indigestion

Do you know you’re going out to eat and are going to mistreat your stomach to some spicy foods?

Then sip some ACV before eating. The acidity in ACV helps to counteract any craziness that you might experience from downing that chili dog.

So next time instead of downing an antacid why don’t you take a shot of ACV. It will help with your stomach and all of the other thigns on this list.

3. Clears a Stuffy Nose

I didn’t believe this one but it usually works. I guess the taste is so bad that any bad stuff simply wants to run away as quick as possible.

The ACV does a great job of helping sinus draining. Mix a teaspoon of it in a glass of water or some other type of drink.

4. Hiccups

I am absolutely beyond terrible with hiccups.

People have tried to scare me and that doesn’t work.

I have held my breath for maybe a combined 72 weeks in an effort to get rid of the hiccups. Nothing.

I’ve taken a tablespoon of sugar. Nothing.

I’ve drunk a glass of water. Nothing.

Know what does work? You got it. Apple Cider Vinegar.

But why?

Hiccups are usually caused by low stomach acid slowing the digestion of protein. ACV helps to restore the acid balance in your good bits so that you won’t experience those crazy spasms in your diaphragm anymore.

5. Soothe a Sore Throat

Is there anything worse than getting a tickle in your throat? Well yes, there are plenty of things worse, but knowing that a sore throat is coming really sucks.

Once you feel that prickle tickle in your throat take some ACV to help fight the infection. Most germs can’t survive in acidic environments and vinegar does a great job of creating such an environment.

All you need to do is mix 1/4 cup of ACV with a 1/4 cup of warm water and gargle every hour.

6. Reduce Swelling

To be honest with you I don’t know how this works and I’ve never tried it myself, but if you have swollen feet or hands then simply rub ACV to reduce the swelling.

I know it sounds crazy but lots of people say it works.

7. Eliminate Exhaustion

We are all looking for more ways to stay awake. Especially in those boring meetings after lunch.

If you like to exercise or suffer from a lot of stress then you know that lactic acid can build up in your body. This build up causes fatigue which makes us fall asleep in our 10th-grade Geometry class with Mr. Barger.

Next time you feel the sleep sleeps coming, just add a tablespoon (or more!) of ACV to a glass of water.

8. Relieve Nighttime Leg Cramps

I don’t know if there is a greater pain than getting a cramp in your leg in the middle of the night. The pain is indescribable.

My wife doesn’t think I can cry, but when my calf locks up my eyes have no problem sweating profusely.

Guess what helps to prevent nighttime cramps? Tequila!

I’m just playing, you know the correct answer.

Taking ACV twice daily helps to dissolve acid crystals in your blood which can help to provide potassium, calcium, and other essential minerals to the body that are needed to prevent cramping.

9. Get Rid of Bad Breath

Every morning my wife asks me if I have brushed my teeth.

There is no point in lying to her because she can smell the truth.

Due to its acidic properties, ACV makes a wonderful remedy for bad breath. All you need to do is add 1/2 tablespoon of ACV into a cup of water and gargle the mixture in your mouth for 10 seconds at a time until you finish the cup.

10. Fight Yeast Infections

As a guy, I can’t really speak on this, but I’ve heard many women (don’t ask) discuss how ACV helps in treating yeast infections. Add 1.5 cups of ACV into a bathtub filled with warm water and then soak in it for about 20 minutes. You should do this once a day for 3 days.

11. Control Blood Sugar Level

I’m about to throw some scientific terms your way so don’t freak out.

ACV has some anti-glycemic effects which help to improve insulin sensitivity in your body. This is essential for maintaining the sugar levels of blood.

Just mix one teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar in a glass of filtered water and take 3 times a day to steady our stomach’s rate of digestion.

This will help to keep blood sugar levels more consistent.

12. Leveling Up Weight Loss

ACV can help to promote weight loss by increasing your metabolism. It helps with weight loss for me because after consuming it I never want to put anything in my mouth ever again.

You can either sip ACV throughout the day or mix 2 teaspoons into a glass of water and drink before every meal.

13. Lower Blood Cholesteroal

I’m going to take a step back from this one and let the scientists provide the info:

Research has indicated that apple cider vinegar improves the lipid profile of blood by decreasing the levels of triglycerides and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) or bad cholesterol, as also by increasing the levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) or good cholesterol.

14. Weight Loss

Yep. Taking a spoonful of Apple Cider Vinegar daily can help with weight loss because ACV has been shown to suppress your appetite.

If you don’t have a crazy craving for that cupcake in the office kitchen then you are less likely to gain unwanted weight.

Apple Cider Vinegar Is Awesome

As you can see apple cider vinegar is a tiny wonder drug for your body.
